2010 Test Preparation Season has Begun

Chyten offers two of the most revolutionary diagnostic tools on the market today. Continuing to transform the way that students, parents, and even schools look at test preparation, the Magnostic Report and the ACT vs. SAT Comparison test are celebrating their one year anniversary. These tools have allowed our clients to more accurately prepare for their exam of choice and improve the skill sets with the most room for growth.

Chyten's Magnostic SAT Diagnostic is one of the most comprehensive SAT diagnostic tool in existence today. After taking an actual conditions practice test, the student receives Chyten's Magnostic report, the most comprehensive diagnostic tool in the industry. Not only does it offer a categorical analysis of test performance, it identifies student tendencies in more than 100 reading, writing, and mathematical categories. It then analyzes student performance factors such as point cost factor, fatigue factor, answer distribution, and more. With its detailed graphical analysis, The Magnostic provides both visual and linear representations of performance that can easily be turned into a plan of action to improve scores and confidence.

With ACT gaining a foothold in the Eastern and Western United States, and with all colleges in America now accepting ACT as readily as they accept SAT, many students are left wondering which test to take – which test matches their academic abilities. While practice versions of both tests were available, no one test existed that could measure a student's relative abilities on both. Chyten's ACT vs. SAT Comparison Test fills that void. After taking the test, students receive a detailed 11-page report that provides information on each student's relative performance on ACT vs. SAT, and the strength of each student's relative ability.

Training Tour Update

On Saturday, November 21, Company Founder and CEO Neil Chyten wrapped up his fifth tutor training in three months time, after training Chyten's newest cadre of high-power tutors in Bayside, Queens and Syossett, Long Island, New York. In October, he trained a new crop of tutors on the other side of the nation, Irvine and Arcadia, California. Also on the list were Millis, MA and Upper Montclair, NJ. Some would be exhausted by this task, but not Chyten. To Chyten, this is just what it takes to continually produce the best tutors in the country.

"Training our tutors is just part of my job," says Chyten. "It is one of those things that just gives me great satisfaction. I am so impressed by what I see, by the quality of the tutors we are able to attract."

If Chyten is impressed by the quality of the tutors his company attracts, how do these talented tutors feel about being trained by the man whose name is on the door? According to one tutor who attended Chyten's most recent tutor training school in Milburn, New Jersey: "It is terrific. I am really surprised that the company president would come out here to train us." Another tutor who also attended the training said: "I have been attending training seminars for the past 17 years of my teaching career. This is the best training I have ever attended."

What makes Chyten's training so special? According to another tutor who attended the same training: "Mr. Chyten has a passion that is palpable. He makes it clear what he expects from his company's tutors and that is nothing less than excellence. But he is also terrific at explaining concepts. When he explains his Zig Zag Method for example, you get excited to teach it to your students."

2009 wraps up with trainings planned in South Hills, PA and Lake Oswego, OR.

Chyten Educational Services Expects to Double its Number of Education Centers in the Upcoming Academic Year

We Expect to Add Ten New Franchises by December 1, 2009!

Chyten Educational Services today announced that the company is in the process of opening ten new Chyten franchise locations in the next three months. This projection is based on the number of deposits and committments for deposits the company has received. According to company president Neil Chyten, "We have had an impressive amount of interest in our franchise opportunity and have already received deposits for new franchises from Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Florida, and two franchises are already in the process of procuring leases in Arcadia and Irvine, California."

It looks as though the return of lending and consumer confidence, combined with layoffs and employee severence packages will bring record franchise sales for Chyten, the nation's leading provider of premium-level educational services. "We have an attractive model for potential owners who want a rewarding career, because we are absolutely the best at what we do. We offer more premium-level educational services than any other provider and each of those services represents a significant revenue stream for our owners." He adds, "Eveyone wants the best for their kids, and that is where Chyten comes in."

Last year, Chyten added college counseling, RANDDTM Reading and Study Skills and summer school programs to its tutoring and test-prep classes model. This year, it is adding Singapore Math TM, and graduate school test prep programs such as LSAT and GRE.

With ten new franchises currently in the pipeline, Chyten feels strongly that the number of Chyten Education Centers will easily double this year - and says that his company is just getting started. His ultimate goal is to become the nation's premier premium-level educational services provider, and it looks as if this young enthusiastic company and ambitious owner are well on their way.

Neil Chyten Returns from National Tutor Training Tour

On Saturday, August 16th, Company Founder and CEO Neil Chyten returned home to Massachusetts after training Chyten's newest cadre of high-power tutors in Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Arizona. To Chyten, this is just what it takes to continually produce the best tutors in the country.

"Training our tutors is just part of my job," says Chyten. "It is one of those things that just gives me great satisfaction. I am so impressed by what I see, by the quality of the tutors we are able to attract."

Next up for Neil will be a return trip to New York and another trip to New Jersey, to train tutors in new centers opening up in Hartsdale and Princeton, respectively. According to Chyten:
"I am excited to be going back to New York of course and as far as Princeton goes, well, I have more than one reason to be excited about that. "Asked to explain, Chyten offers only a smile.

College Board announces new "Score Choice" Policy for SAT

Finally, the College Board has done the right thing. Despite the likelihood that the move has a less-than-altruistic roots, score choice on the SAT is a good thing for students. As an SAT tutor myself for 20 years, I have felt the extreme pressure of high-powered parents and high achieving students who push for top scores and top schools and whose expectations fall short due to a "bad day" on SAT day. Anyone from an honors student to a remedial student can have a bad day on test day. Things happen. Fire alarms go off. Soccer teams practice outside the window. People get sick, feel tired or have personal problems to deal with. Recently, I had a student's mother call me in tears, because her daughter's score increase of 280 points still didn't put her in the mix for the top schools to which her friends were applying. So, the fact that students can take the test with less pressure and will have the opportunity to test the test over with no penalty, seems to be a step in the right direction. To the College Board, if you are listening, offer score choice for Subject Tests NOW! Just so no one is accused of not giving credit where credit is due… let me go on record as saying that the College Board should be commended, not criticized, for this action.

Chyten Adds College Counseling to its Growing List of Services

Starting in AY 2008-2009, Many of Chyten's Education Centers will feature a new service: College Counseling. According to Chyten's founder and CEO Neil Chyten, this is a natural extension of the services they already offer.

"For years, discriminating parents have chosen Chyten to prepare their students for the benchmark tests they need to get into college: SAT, ACT, AP and the Subject Tests. Now, we can extend those services all the way through matriculation. "
"People should know us well enough, should know me well enough, to understand that we will not offer any program unless we can do it as well or better than anyone else. "

Since College Counseling was new to Chyten, Neil sought a partnership with someone for whom he had a great deal of respect - one of the best counselors in the region: Jeff Vernamonti, from Lexington Christian Academy.

"Jeff is one of the best counselors I have ever met – one of those guys who really ‘gets it.' When he came on board, he brought along experience and expertise forged over his 10-year college counseling career. The college counseling program he has created here at Chyten is top notch. "

For Vernamonti's part, working at Chyten is like a dream come true. "I loved my time at LCA, but the opportunity to build a national program at Chyten is an amazing opportunity. Chyten is by far the best tutoring company in America and I am happy to be a part of its future. "

Like Chyten, who personally trains all Chyten's tutors across the country, Vernamonti will train all Chyten's counselors in his proprietary program – a program that offers a package of services that takes kids all the way from the earliest stages of discernment through high school to college transition counseling.

Now that Chyten has added college counseling to the mix, what is next for this fast moving company? According to Neil, you'll just have to stay tuned. "Nothing is off limits. If there is a need and we can fill that need and offer a service that helps parents or students - as long as we can do it better than anyone else - we will do it. "
