The ISEE is offered eight times per year from October through June. Students can take the ISEE during three testing windows: Fall (August–November); Winter (December–March); and Spring/Summer (April–July). Students may take the test only once per window, or up to a maximum of three times in a 12-month admission cycle. Parents can choose which scores are sent to prospective schools. Most students take the test in November, December, or January.
There are three levels of ISEE: the Lower Level for current 4th and 5th graders, the Middle Level for current 6th and 7th graders, and the Upper Level for current 8th and 9th graders and above. ERB recently introduced "Primary 2, 3, and 4" for students applying for admission to grades 2-4.
